I've decided to apply Propp's theory and apply it to the film/book "Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy"
Below, I've noted down what I believe plays which roles, and why.
Hero- Arthur is the hero of the story, he's sent on his quest when his planet is destroyed.
False hero- Zaphod. He's often very vain, and makes life more difficult for Author throughout
Villains- Questular Rontok and the Vogans. The volgans destroy Earth and end up causing trouble throughout the film and book, and Questular Rontok causes quite an amount of trouble when he leads the volgans to try and save Zaphod from himself.
The princess- The question to life, the universe and everything.
Dispatcher- The planet being destroyed is what sent Author on his quest.
Helper- Ford Prefect travels with Arthur and offers information, tools and assistance along the way.
Donor- I'm unsure about this...
Princess's Farther- Slartibartfast helps return everything to the equilibrium by giving back a second editon of the planet.
